An evergreen webinar only generates revenue if the urgency is real. Here's exactly where to place a timer in your webinar funnel and how to set it up.
An evergreen webinar funnel is one of the most powerful automated revenue systems a creator or coach can build. Someone discovers you on a Tuesday. They watch your webinar on a Thursday. If your offer is right and the funnel is set up well, they buy — without you lifting a finger.
But there's a step most evergreen webinar funnels miss, and it's the reason conversion rates stay low even when the content is strong: there's no real reason to buy today.
A countdown timer in the right place fixes that.
There are three places where urgency makes sense in an evergreen webinar funnel. Each one does different work.
Someone registered for your webinar but didn't watch it live. They received the replay link. Now they're on the replay page — and if that page has no urgency, they'll bookmark it, tell themselves they'll watch it later, and never come back.
A timer on the replay page changes that. "Replay access expires in 48 hours" is a real deadline — tied to when they registered — that creates a genuine reason to watch now. When the timer expires, the replay is gone. (If you honor it, which you should.)
This is one of the highest-leverage places to add urgency because the subscriber is warm — they signed up because they were interested. They just need the push to actually show up.
After someone watches your webinar — live or replay — they land on your sales page or receive your follow-up sequence. This is where the core purchase decision happens.

This example is a fixed-date masterclass replay campaign: everyone shares the October 22, 2026 deadline at 6 AM Pacific. For an always-on webinar, use a tag-triggered evergreen campaign so each subscriber gets their own window instead.
An evergreen timer in your post-watch email (or on the sales page) creates urgency tied to their watch date, not to a shared calendar date. Someone who watched on Monday sees "Your bonus expires Wednesday at 11:59pm." Someone who watched on Saturday sees a different countdown — their countdown.
This is the key advantage of tag-based evergreen timers over fixed-date timers. Every subscriber gets their own real deadline based on when they engaged with your content, not an arbitrary date you picked.
For your primary offer, you may want a hard cart close: the offer is available for 72 hours from the time someone watches the webinar, and then it's gone.
This creates a stronger urgency than a bonus window because the entire offer — not just the bonus — disappears. Used sparingly and honored strictly, this converts at a higher rate than open-ended offers.
The trade-off: some buyers will miss the window entirely and you lose those sales. You have to decide whether the urgency lift is worth the drop in total buyers. For higher-priced offers where you want buyers who are decisive, it often is.
Setting up an evergreen webinar timer with Mila works in three steps:
Connect your email platform. Mila integrates with Kit, Flodesk, MailerLite, and Drip. Pick yours.
Set up the trigger. Define which tag in your email platform starts the subscriber's countdown. Typically this is a tag applied when someone watches your webinar or reaches a specific point in your post-webinar sequence.
Add the timer to your email and/or page. Mila generates an animated GIF embed for email and banner code for your page. Paste the appropriate code where you want the countdown to appear.
That's it. Every new subscriber who triggers the tag starts their personal countdown automatically.
The word "evergreen" can make marketers nervous. Does "always on" mean "always fake"?
No — and this is the distinction that matters. An evergreen timer isn't fake urgency. It's personalized urgency. The deadline is real. It's just real for each subscriber at a different time, based on when they entered your funnel.
Your offer genuinely becomes unavailable — or the bonus genuinely disappears — when their timer hits zero. That's a real constraint. It just resets for the next subscriber who comes through.
